Hello fellow round and square dancers. This is current information about the Great Plain Squares season and our next events.
Save gasoline and burn energy. Learn to square dance at your local square dance club. It is a great way to have a great evening out while getting exercise. Great Plain Squares of Needham, Mass. will teach you all about square dancing. On September 10, 2008 we will have a fun night to introduce you to square dancing. FAQ about the Great Plain Squares Dance Class. Where is the weekly dance? We dance almost every week at the Carter Methodist Church, 800 Highland Ave. Needham, MA. What is the starting date? September 10, 2008 we start with a free fun night from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. How long is class for? Class continues September 17, 2008 at 7 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. The duration of the class is from September until May. What do I learn in those eight months? In square dancing we have a mainstream program. We will cover all of these calls and more. What about parking? You can park in back of the church. Enter the door off the parking lot and walk down the stairs to the basement for the dance. Do I need a partner? While having a partner is nice, it is not required. Singles are welcomed. Do I have to wear those fancy skirts? After you have danced for a while you may choose to wear fancy skirts or shirts, but you are not required to. Casual attire is OK. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended. What is the price for an evening? The price is $7.00 per person. This includes a few snacks with punch and coffee. Will I be a square dancer by the end of class? You will be a square dancer on the first night of class. The more classes you attend the better you become. Join us in September as we enter the world of square dancing. To wrap up our 2007-2008 season we will have a dinner dance. This will be open to all dancers and will feature Bob Butler, Chris Stacy, Phil Gatchell and Scott Cohen. The pot luck dinner starts at 5 p.m. and the dancing starts at 7 p.m. The date of this dance is Sunday, June 8, 2008 at the Carter Methodist Church. Eating and dancing is what we like to do. Last summer we had a lot of fun at the Tri-club summer dance. This year the date is Friday, July 18th from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We are using the same location of Warren Recreation Center 90 Washington St. Wellesley. The team is Jerry Maurice and Harriett Clarke.
