Great Plain Squares - Join the Fun

Beginner Classes - Join the Fun! We, the current dancers at Great Plain Squares, are actively seeking new dancers, both beginners and experienced. The more people dance, the greater the fun for all. Our classes assume you know no square dancing and progress from basic calls through the Mainstream level. In April you will enjoy a fun and lighthearted Graduation. Join us in September for the start of a new year of dancing, fun, stimulation and laughs.

Our first class in 2007 is September 5th from 7:00 - 9:00. Call us or just show up. If you can't make the date, we accept beginners on September 12th and 19th also. After that, we are off and running! The first class is free and successive classes are $7 per person. We dance at Carter Memorial Church, 800 Highland Avenue, Needham (see map).

Square Dancing is like the ultimate game of Simon Says. Click Here to see Animated Images that show how to perform each movement. The web site is in Japan but that doesn't matter because square dancing uses English names for the movements (known as "calls") all around the world. There are also CDROMs showing the Movements and you can play, step, rewind and see how each movement/call is done.
